such…that 如此……以至于

【用法】

such.…that连接一个结果状语从句。such是形容词，它所修饰的名词可以是单数或复数可数名词，也可以是不可数名词；如果是单数可数名词，前面需加不定冠词a或an。此外，这个名词前面可以带形容词，也可以不带。因此，such…that的句型结构可分为以下三种： 

(1)such+ a(n)（+adj.）+单数可数名词+ that-clause。如：He was such an honest boy that he was praised by the teacher．他非常诚实，因而受到了老师赞扬。 

(2) such（+adj.）+复数可数名词+that-clause。如：He had such long arms that he could almost touch the ceiling．他的胳膊很长，几乎能碰到天花板。 

(3) such（+ adj.）+不可数名词+that-clause。如：The soldiers showed such great courage that they were highly praised by the commander．士兵们表现出如此大的勇气，以至于指挥官高度赞扬了他们。

【例句】

◆ He is such a good teacher that everyone likes him．他是如此好的一个老师，以至于人人都喜欢他。 

◆ It gave him such a shock that his face turned white.这件事使他很震惊，脸色都变苍白了。
