believe

v. ①相信[+sb.／sth. /that-clause]②认为[+sb./sth.+ adj. /to be;+ that-clause]:I believe   that it is the duty of the architect and planner to move things forward.（安徽高考）

注意：

①believe后接宾语从句，如果宾语从句含有否定含义，通常否定 believe而不否定从句。类似用法的词还有think,suppose,imagine,expect 等。这类主从复合句构成反意疑问句 时，若主句的主语是I，we，附加疑问 旬部分的主语和时态根据从句确定； 若主句的主语不是I，we，则附加疑问 句部分的主语和时态根据主句确定。

 ②believe 一般不用于进行时态，这类动词还有guess ,know,realize,remember,suppose,unders-tand等。
