【用法】  require通常不用于进行时，后面可接sth．of sb．表示”要求某人……”；也可接sb．to do sth．表示”需要某人儆……”，如：You are required to have an English test tonight．也可接doingsth．，用主动形式表示被动意义，相当于require to be done，意为”需要（被）……”。
